Sunset Paths

“SUNSET PATHS”

This painting is titled “Sunset Paths” and shows the journey home at the end of the day. As the sun sets over the ranges, people return to their families, to rest, reconnect and share stories of the day.

The lines represent the pathways taken by people returning home – through bushland, over hills, across creeks and through town. The colours of the sunset are reflected in the landscape – red, yellow, gold and orange hues that bring warmth and peace.

The circles show meeting places – homes, camps, resting spots – where people gather, sit together, and strengthen their connections.

This painting is a reminder of the importance of family, community and connection to Country. It celebrates the beauty of the Mount Isa landscape and the peace that comes with returning to the places and people we belong to.
