Journey of Care

“JOURNEY OF CARE”

This artwork is titled “Journey of Care”, and represents the story of the Mount Isa Hospital and the staff who work there. It shows the journey of patients and their families as they receive care and support at the hospital.

The large circles represent the hospital itself – a central place of healing, learning, and connection. The U shapes surrounding the circles represent the many people involved in the hospital – doctors, nurses, allied health workers, cleaners, administrative staff, and more. Everyone plays an important role in caring for patients and keeping the hospital running.

The smaller circles represent the patients and their families, and the pathways between the circles show the journey of care – from arriving at the hospital, receiving treatment, and recovering with the help of staff. The coloured shapes around the edge represent strength, protection, and the many different communities that the hospital serves.

This painting celebrates the dedication and compassion of healthcare workers, and the strength and resilience of the Mount Isa community.
