Threads of Heritage

“THREADS OF HERITAGE:  Love and Guidance Across Generations”

This painting is called “Threads of Heritage” and tells the story of Mount Isa’s diverse and multicultural community. People from many different places and cultures have come to live and work in Mount Isa, each bringing their own stories, knowledge, and traditions.

The central circle represents the heart of Mount Isa – a meeting place where people come together to share, learn, and support one another. The U shapes around the centre are the people sitting together in unity. The colours in the background represent the different cultures, countries and language groups that make up the community.

The footsteps show the journey of people who have travelled from all over the world to call Mount Isa home. The connecting pathways symbolise how our stories, cultures and identities are woven together to create a strong and vibrant community.

This artwork celebrates respect, inclusion and the importance of recognising and valuing our shared heritage.
